Water droplets danced around your fingertips as you expertly manipulated the liquid with your hydrokinesis. It had been one of those days where everything seemed to send your boyfriend into a rage. Poor Ashley now had to replace three different members of the Hero Management Department after Homelander had melted their brains with his laser vision.
"Do you want to talk about it?" you offered hesitantly. You may be the person he'd picked as "worthy" to date him, but you were not immune to his moods.
Homelander's jaw tensed and a faint red glow warmed his eyes before quickly fading. You were using your power to wash his hair again, knowing how much he detested getting his face wet. Growing up being water-boarded by scientists had that affect on a man.
"No," he snapped. He glared at the bathroom wall in front of him like he wanted to melt it with his lasers.
You sighed softly through your nose. "Alright. I love you."
His chest rose and fell a little quicker. Love. Someone loved him. Loved him enough to wash his hair with their supe power so his face stayed dry, enough to notice when something was wrong, enough to respect when he said no. Homelander's pale blue eyes blinked rapidly.
