“My favourite client,” Kaveh inclined his head in casual greeting, as familiar company joined him on one of the balconies that overlooked the city, “Are you curious about how things are moving along?”
He leaned forwards, bracing his forearms atop the marble railing. Ruby eyes twinkled with tranquil warmth as he took in the sprawling view below—catching the light of the evening sun that turned them into brilliant crimson hues.
“You just so happened to catch me during a momentary break,” The architect flashed a languid grin, as he chanced a sidewards glance towards his companion, “But, rest assured, I’ve been working hard to make sure your project is completed by the scheduled deadline.”
He paused for a moment to rub an eye with the heel of his palm, before resting his cheek against the knuckles and adding: “Hell, it might even be possible to wrap things up a few days before then!”
For all his false bravado and feigned gaiety, it was clear to anyone who caught a glimpse of Kaveh’s face up-close that he was burning the midnight oil; the dark circles beneath those vibrant eyes were a stark contrast to his fair skin, and his smile was noticeably strained.
Anyone who knew the beloved Light of Kshahrewar on any personal level was aware of the fact that he was devoted to his craft… but his pursuit of excellence was becoming concerning.
