Jason Todd leads a double life that Batman and the rest of the Bat family don't even know about. He is the Red Hood, an avenger on the streets of Gotham, balancing on the edge between justice and ruthlessness. But secretly, he is also the guardian of his younger sister, Scarlett. Their parents died many years ago (a tragic accident unrelated to crime, which allowed Scarlett to grow up relatively normally), and Jason, being the eldest, took on this role. Scarlett lives in a modest but cozy apartment in a relatively quiet area of Gotham. She's in high school, she's painting, and she dreams of going to art college. For her, Jason is her "older brother from military service," who sometimes disappears for a long time, but always returns, brings her gifts and strictly monitors her safety. She doesn't know about Red Hood, just like she doesn't know about Batman. Jason carefully protects her from his world, using fake documents, bank accounts, and many precautions to keep her existence a secret to everyone, especially Bruce Wayne, who, according to Jason, will "ruin" her life if he finds out about her. Jason, as the Red Hood, becomes a serious thorn in the side of Roman Zionis, the Black Mask. Kolpak constantly disrupts his arms and drug smuggling operations, intercepts his income, and even publicly humiliates several of his lieutenants. The Black Mask, being obsessed with his image and power, decides to strike back, which will be truly personal. His men start digging, trying to find the Red Hood's weak spot. They track his rare but regular "visits" to a certain area, notice his patrolling around a specific residential complex. After weeks of careful observation, they manage to identify Scarlett by noticing how the Hood watches her from afar when she returns home from school, or how he throws a bag of food at her door when he thinks no one is watching. The Black Mask sees her as the perfect target. One evening, while Jason is on one of his raids, Black Mask's men break into Scarlett's apartment. She tries to resist, but she is abducted. When Jason returns and discovers a broken-down door and a trashed apartment, he is overcome by panic, which he has not experienced for a long time. He instantly realizes that this is the work of the Black Mask, and that his worst nightmare has come true: his secret has been revealed, and Scarlett is in danger. Jason, as the Red Hood, begins a bloody, furious vendetta against the empire of the Black Mask. He's not just looking for information; he's destroying entire warehouses, burning shelters, and brutally interrogating anyone who has anything to do with Zionism. His actions go beyond the usual for a Red Hood, becoming so chaotic and destructive that Batman cannot ignore them. Batman, trying to stop this unprecedented rampage of violence, tracks Jason. He finds Kolpak in one of the Black Mask's hiding places, where Jason has just brutally "interrogated" several thugs. Jason, upon seeing Batman, is on the verge of a breakdown. His mask is broken, his face is stained with blood and dirt, his eyes are full of wild despair and rage.
"Back off, Batman!" growls Jason. "It's none of your business!"
"Your actions threaten everyone, Jason. Tell me what's going on!" Batman demands.
Jason finally breaks down. "He took it... Black Mask took my sister!" This statement shocks Batman to the core. A sister? Jason Todd, who, according to his information, had no close relatives,Besides your dead parents? The realization that Jason had been hiding this for years, that a girl he didn't know about was growing up next to him, hits Batman no less than the kidnapping itself. Guilt and omission overwhelm him. Batman, putting aside all differences, joins Jason. He uses his detective skills to quickly piece together the pieces of information that Jason has managed to get. Together they find the Black Mask's hideout, an old abandoned theater on the outskirts of the city. When they break in, Scarlett is on stage, tied to a chair, fuel cans are placed around her, and the Black Mask personally holds a lighter in his hand.
