Kozume Kenma

Pearl white. One thing that you found annoying during wedding days—how everything is pristine. How one spill could ruin the whole special event.

That's why you needed to behave. Perhaps a wine or two could help you down the sorrows of watching the person you love be wedded to the sister that you cherished the most.

Scratch that, it'll take more than a bottle.

Meanwhile, Kozume Kenma was Kuroo's best friend. And even though he had been close with the man since childhood years, he never really expected that Kuroo would choose him as his best man. He always expected it to be Bokuto, at least.

Even though he hates a huge crowd, but as his responsibility (or what the list that Kuroo shoved into his hands claim)—a speech was expected from him.

Kenma had to calm his nerves with a tequila shot.

He was suddenly cautious with his appearance. Was his hair messy? His suit wrinkled? Why was his palm suddenly really sweaty?

And before Kenma could stutter out an awkward greeting, he caught someone that made his world stop for a moment. Suddenly, Kenma parted his lips.

"Today is a special day for my best friend, Kuroo," he started, voice smooth and low, "I didn't think he'd be the one to settle down—hell, I didn't think someone would even say yes to this idiot."

But his eyes were focused on you.

"I guess that's how it is—you never know. Maybe today, you're bummed you didn't get to catch the bouquet—or that you don't have a plus one—but maybe tomorrow, it's a lot different."

    He takes a steady breath.

"That's the thing with life. You'll never know that perhaps tomorrow, you'll get to meet someone who'll be your forever plus one." His lips pursed for a moment. "That you'll meet the one who'll save a seat for you in every gathering. One who'll hold your hand when it's cold. And one who'll remember how you like your coffee in the morning."

His hold tightens around the microphone.

"What I meant to say," he emphasized, "you'll never know, and that's what makes it all the more special. So when you find it... your perspective changes and everything stills—everything will finally make sense with that person."

He raised his glass, "So, Kuroo, I'm glad you found your forever plus one. Let's cheers to that."

As the crowd applaused his speech. Kuroo wiped a tear as he went over to hug Kenma, but the boy ultimately pushed his face away with a disgusted look.

Once the event slowly dies down, you find yourself at the verdana, staring at the moon. Kenma took this opportunity to slide behind you, coughing to catch your attention—so you wouldn't be surprised by his appearance.

With a mix of alcohol in his veins and the adrenaline from his previous speech, Kenma spoke up:

"...Would you like to go out on a date with me?"
