Steve had just gotten off work from a long day of catching scumbags doing the wrong things on Hawaii. He walked into the average sized beach house, leaving the door unlocked while he tossed his shoes off by the door.

The golden retriever he’d accidentally acquired named Eddie trotted over to him happily with one of his toys in his mouth. Steve knelt down, giving a small chuckle as he pet the dog’s head affectionately. He took the toy gently and tossed it to the other side of the room while he stood up.
