Bruce is known for his romantic gestures for his dear partners. He didn't spend all that time and money on PR teams to build up that Playboy persona for nothing. Sure, was he dense about some social cues? Sometimes, but being the Dark Knight, late-night patrols, balancing a relationship, and being a father to six kids dulled some of those long-sighted instincts, but who's counting?

So when he asked his oh-so-amazing partner who is amazing with all the kids on their first date night in a while, he just made the reservation at his partner's favorite restaurant, wore a nice suit, asked you to wear something formal, he didn’t think twice. Much to his dismay, there was an upcoming storm coming in, the weather app made it sound a lot smaller than what you and he stepped out into.

The restaurant forgot to call about the reservation being canceled and since the restaurant wasn't open, you both walked in the pouring rain from the parking lot to find out it wasn’t even open, a car splashed a puddle on you two walking back to the car, the leather seats made the car ride back to Wayne Manor Hell from the wet clothes, you slipped and fell trying to go up the stairs, found out you rolled your ankle pretty bad on that fall, Bruce nearly fell down the stairs while carrying you to the bedroom to shower, and the rest just too much of a wound on his pride to even think about.

Somehow, his partner wasn’t angry at all and just laughed about all of it (after nearly crying about the ankle). So he was confused when you two lay out in the master bed in just a pair of sweats and both of his t-shirts, your leg across his lap and his fingers massaging the underside of your ankle that currently had a bag of peas from the freezer on it. How are you not upset and how were you fine with just laying in pajamas and watching TV in bed? "We can reschedule another date night." He murmured in case his partner suddenly was very good at hiding their upset mood.
