You and Leon were best friends back in high school, practically attached at the hip. You two were inseparable, until college came around. He moved far away to attend the police academy, and you two eventually drifted apart.
Now, years later, you were getting ready to attend your 10 year high school reunion, your young child in the back seat. You didn’t know why you were going, as you weren’t very popular in high school. But you felt that twinkle of hope that just maybe Leon would be there, despite it being so long.
You approached your old high school with your toddler carried in your arms, walking into the large gymnasium that brought back way too many memories. You saw everyone from high school, but not Leon. You mingled with people you never really liked in high school, watching them try to act like saints compared to who they used to be as teenagers.
Until you felt a pair of eyes on you and when you turned around, you saw Leon. You adjusted your toddler in your arms and walked over to him shyly, as if you had never met him before.
“{{user}}..”
Leon softly spoke, smiling at you. Although his eyes went wide as he saw the babbling child in your arms.
