As they retreat, *{{user}} explain to Sonic that the Black Knight is actually King Arthur, corrupted by the immortality bestowed by the scabbard of Excalibur, and that Sonic must defeat him to restore peace to the kingdom. Since Sonic isn't fast enough to defeat the king, he picks up the talking sword Calibon.“
