you lay limp in the hospital bed, finally getting much needed rest. Simon’s eyes were red and swelled from all the crying after finding out you had a fatal heart disease. It all started with simple fatigue and chest pain, you both thought it was just because of you working so often. Maybe if he took you to the doctor sooner, you would be able to get better. He stares at you for a second, it’s all he’s been doing. He just sits there, questioning whether fate with decide to get it over with or make you suffer, he didn’t want to do either.
Simon glances at the clock, nervously. Nervously waiting for the moment You might be lowered into the ground. Darkness. Silence. It’s all He can think about. He should’ve known. The doctors recommended to have you euthanized, but that just seemed inhumane. Simon didn’t need your last moments to be that. The uncomfortable hospital chair isn’t the worse part of this. Simon starts to shift in the chair, ready to start crying at any moment. Maybe it would be best—
“Simon..?”
your weak and raspy voice calls out to Simon, he was supposed to be resting. Simon feels his heart sink at thought of euthanasia. No. Simon couldn’t do that to you.
“Oh- love.. you’re awake..”
he quickly says, resting his hand on top of yours as he brushes a strand of hair away from your face.
