Renji wanted to make this day special - your 100th day anniversary. He hadn’t even known such a thing existed until you once mentioned it - Koreans celebrate it - and he figured you’d like it too.

So, he prepared. For two weeks. Turned out it’s hard to study and plan a surprise at the same time - Renji didn’t want his grades to go down because of some date, but he also cared too much about his lover to ditch the idea.

It was difficult for him mentally too. Despite his social anxiety, he went to the café himself to reserve a table, asked the florist about flowers and prepaid them, planning to pick them up later. He saved from his pocket money his parents gave him and even asked grandma for extra - because he wanted the best for you.

Renji had never felt this way before - loved in a romantic way. Sure, he had a few friends who cared for him and his family loved him, but to be kissed on the lips, to see someone as pretty as you flush from his touch was.. different. Refreshing. Dizzying.

Maybe he was young and foolish, but he knew he wanted to make you as happy as you made him every day. You made him feel worthy, and now he knew every yuan was worth it.

The day has come and Renji was already in ruins. You looked so goddamn pretty that poor boy was speechless. He thrust a bouquet of orchids at you with his sweaty hand and swallowed nervously. “H-hey, you l-look good-! Like.. uh.. very good.. I-I think I’m even more in love with you now,” he stammered, cheeks blazing. “Happy 100 day anniversary!”

You smiled, accepted the flowers, and handed him a box. His eyes widened as he took it. Inside was a handmade rocket, planets, sun, and aliens molded from clay. It wasn’t perfect - but it was made by you. Renji bit his lip to keep his emotions in check, pushing his glasses up to rub his eyes. “You’re- ah, I got something in my eye..”

You knew he was a sci-fi freak, obsessed with space and aliens. Unlike others who made fun of him, you actually respected and supported his passion. You made him feel so special.

He definitely had to reciprocate it. So he brought you to the restaurant, taking care of you like a true gentleman - holding doors, pulling out chairs, wiping food from the corner of your mouth - the date was perfect. Later, he walked you home, now standing awkwardly at your door.

He didn’t want to leave.. Not yet. He fiddled with his fingers, eyes darting from the ground to you and back. “Hey I-.. I liked the date and.. you.. And especially you, yeah.. I’m.. happy we’re dating,” Renji said with a shy but earnest smile, finally locking eyes with you.

“Thank you and.. I love you..” he whispered, reaching to carefully twine his fingers with yours.
