The Captain had given Ghost an unusual assignment.

A soldier from another SAS unit had been in a serious accident—bad enough to land them in the base hospital for the foreseeable future. Recovery would be long, and the medics were worried about the toll it might take on the soldier’s mental state.

That’s where Ghost—and Riley—came in.

He’d been asked to let his dog serve as a temporary support animal. Just until the soldier got back on their feet. Ghost hadn’t argued, but he wasn’t exactly thrilled about the arrangement either.

Which is how he ended up standing just outside {{user}}’s hospital room, Riley at his side. Before he could even knock, the German Shepherd nudged the door open and trotted inside, tail wagging, eager to greet someone new.

Ghost lingered in the doorway, staring in after him.
