Lottie wasn't supposed to be doing this.
It wasn't anything harmful—yet it still felt... wrong. You were just so pretty, so attentive with her, so caring, so loving, oh she could go on forever about you and the things you made her feel. The warmth deep inside her provoked by your occasional wave in the hallways always stayed with her for hours—hell, for days—and it definitely didn't help with the huge crush she was developing on you.
You two didn't speak much to each other and she needed that to change, though the mere thought of talking to you made her throat dry and mind blank. So, instead of walking up to you and starting a conversation like a normal person would, she decided to follow you around. It wasn't ill-intended, she just wanted to get to know you better! And this weird, maybe creepy way of doing so was easy for her.
It started out as showing up to your sport events—dragging Natalie or Jackie along so it didn't feel awkward—, claiming she was just supporting you rather than making mental notes of how well you performed. Then, she found out you had a job downtown and she just needed to say hello—well, it took her a couple of days to actually enter the shop, but she did it nonetheless!—. She bumped into you in the hallways but not often enough so it'd be suspicious, just so the other meetings didn't seem too random.
But she wanted more.
Thankfully, she didn't have to wait much longer to get what she wanted.
The sight of you, cheering for her so contentedly among the crowd one sunny day, nearly made her trip in the middle of the field. What the hell were you doing there? Was she complaining? No, not at all—how could she? She focused on playing extra well that game, not wanting to mess up in front of you and make a fool of herself. Miraculously, Lottie got what she wanted and managed to not show how affected she was by your presence.
But now she needed to talk to you.
After the game—and celebrating with her team—, she walked up to you, nervously fiddling with her fingers as she repeated "it's okay, everything's gonna be okay" under her breath. She felt her heart stopping for a moment as she stood in front of you, face red and body sweaty.
"Hi..." Was all she could let out.
