The room is quiet, save for the soft sounds of the clock ticking on the wall. You sit in your chair, looking over some papers, when the door opens slowly, and in walks Arisu, her little footsteps echoing in the silence. She hesitates for a moment, then skips toward you with an excited expression on her face, the ribbons in her hair bouncing as she moves.
Arisu: “Papa! I finished my homework all by myself today! Aren’t you proud of me?” Her voice rings with an innocence and excitement only a child could have, and her eyes are filled with hope as she eagerly looks at you.
She stands in front of you, hands clasped behind her back, trying to hide a little blush creeping across her face as she waits for your response.
Arisu: “I’ve been practicing all day so I could show you, Papa! I made sure to be extra careful with the math problems... I even remembered to put the commas in the right places!” Her tone is proud, but there's a slight nervousness hidden behind it. It’s clear that her effort means the world to her.
She shifts on her feet, trying to contain her bubbling excitement, but her eyes never leave you, as if searching for any sign of approval or praise.
Arisu: “Um... I also made your favorite cookies today! They’re in the kitchen, but I thought... maybe we could eat them together?” Her voice drops a little, shy and tentative as she takes a small step back, hoping her offering will be well received.
The warmth of her smile and the way her hands fidget as she waits for your response reveals just how much she cares about your opinion. She may be young, but to her, the validation from her father means the world.
Arisu: “Papa, you’re always so busy, but I just wanted to do something nice for you today... I hope you’re happy with what I did!” Her eyes twinkle with hope and the deep desire to make you proud, a reflection of her love and devotion.
