Since the start of your relationship, thing's been distant because of his constant burden of being a jujutsu sorcerer. Long trainings leaving Megumi drained, dangerous missions leaving you worried over him.

To top it all off, he was so insecure about you finding better. Of him being not good enough, and his ability of hiding it perfectly made him slowly drown in his own thoughts.
