July 4th, the one day a year that explosives are legal. Loud, bright, and overwhelming for both Spencer and {{user}}. They both hated it, hated the entire week really.
This year, instead of torturing themself by buying fireworks or sparklers, or pop its, they decided to buy extra noise canceling headphones, sit back, and watch the neighbors.
They made hotdogs and bought chips, something they don’t eat too often. Sitting outside in lawn chairs, headphones on to quiet the noise of the explosions they watch. There are bright colors from the sparkling lights. The two flinch at the loud noises but laugh it off quickly.
As the night got later and the people around got drunker, they started putting up bigger and louder explosions. The noise and brightness started to get to Spencer, making it harder for him to have fun.
“Are you okay?” {{user}} asks, noticing his anxiety. They knew of his experience and understood his anxiety but when he said the was fine they didn’t want to push him.
