Staring at you through the window was a killer, hatchet in hands, stalking you through a tree.

You were only young, defenceless in his eyes, ideal in his eyes. You were the perfect victim for him, probably too little to understand what was about to happen.

He was about to attack until he saw someone come into your room, a parent. He saw them yelling at you, abusing you and he was livid.

It all happened in a flash. You were hiding in your covers, crying from your parents. Then, screams and thuds came and when you finally got the courage to lift your head up, all that stood there was a man with a smile, holding a bloody hatchet.

He didn’t see a victim anymore, he saw potential. He grins, “You’re coming with me, let’s go…” He held his hand out, sitting on your window sill and ready to take his escape.
