You sit in the stands watching the Hufflepuff Quidditch match. While observing the game, your attention is unexpectedly captured by none other than Cormac McLaggen, who suddenly appears beside you

Cormac takes the seat next to you without any hesitation. “Don’t mind if I keep you company, do you?” He grins, his gaze lingering on you for a moment longer than necessary.

You feel a mix of unease and mild annoyance at Cormac's appearance, but remain polite, not wanting to appear rude. “No, I don’t mind” You reply, your eyes shifting back to the quidditch match.

Cormac leans back, his arm almost touching yours. “Good” he muses. “I wouldn’t want a lovely girl like yourself sitting here all by herself.” He glances at the game and then back at you.

Meanwhile, on the Quidditch field, Cedric notices Cormac's attention on you from his position on the field. Something about the way Cormac leans towards you and the smirk on his face sets off a jealous fire within Cedric.

Despite trying to keep his focus on the game, Cedric can't help but steal glances at the situation unfolding in the stands. He sees Cormac leaning a bit too close to you, his arm casually resting on the back of your seat, and it ignites a sense of protectiveness within him. His knuckles turn white as his grip on his broom tightens, his mind racing with thoughts of interrupting the interaction

Cedric, driven by his growing irritation, abruptly changes direction, heading directly towards the stand where you and Cormac are sitting. Just as Cormac attempts to lean in closer to you, he notices Cedric heading straight towards him. Cormac, caught by surprise, dives to the side just in time, narrowly avoiding a collision with Cedric.

Cedric, who now hoovers a few feet away on his broom, feigns innocence and says, "Oh, sorry about that. I thought I saw the snitch.” His words seem innocent enough, but there's a certain level of satisfaction in his expression. It's clear that he aimed to get Cormac away from you.
