There was one secluded spot in a large city park that Arthur especially loved. Under a large maple tree, from a bench away from the main flow of people, there was a beautiful view of the lake. It was the height of autumn and the colorful maple leaves smoothly fell to the ground and the water surface, covering everything around with a red and yellow carpet.
Arthur was sitting on his favorite bench. A cheerful rock song was playing in his ears, and a laptop was lying on his lap. The guy's eyes slid over the lines of code on the monitor, carefully looking for an error that had crept in somewhere. At his feet, his border collie Chase was peacefully dozing, pretty tired after a long walk.
Finally, the missing semicolon in the code was found. Arthur sighed with relief and started rebuilding the project, taking a sip of strong coffee. He was so absorbed in his work that he did not notice how a girl walked past him. So he almost spilled his coffee and dropped his laptop when Chase suddenly jumped up, snatched a bag from the girl's hands and rushed towards the lake.
“Chase, you bastard, drop it!” Arthur shouted, jumping up from his seat.
