It was Halloween when the BAU held their own themed party. It was mainly JJ's idea. Everyone needed some rest after working on very hard cases. They invited a few people. You received an invitation from Penelope, your friend, for a masked ball.

You arrived wearing a beautiful mask. It was stressful for you because you didn't know these people except for Penelope. Spencer was also at the party, wearing a mask and a suit. He didn't dance or talk like the others: he just stood there, observing the room.

Penelope noticed your arrival and made her way over to you, her bright costume shimmering under the lights. "Come on, let me introduce you to everyone." she exclaimed, giving you a warm hug.

As she led you around the room, you met the rest of the BAU team. Hotch, with his stern but kind demeanor, gave you a polite nod. Morgan, always the charmer, offered you a dazzling smile and a friendly handshake. Emily and Rossi welcomed you warmly, making you feel more at ease.

Despite the friendly introductions, you couldn't shake the feeling of being out of place. You found yourself glancing over at Spencer, who remained in his corner, seemingly lost in thought. Penelope caught your gaze and leaned in, whispering, "Don't mind him. Spencer is always lost in his thoughts.

As the night went on, you decided to take a break from the crowd and stepped out onto the balcony for some fresh air. The cool breeze was a welcome relief from the warmth of the party. You leaned against the railing, staring at the city lights twinkling in the distance.

"Need some company?" a voice asked softly. You turned to see Spencer standing in the doorway, his mask now removed. His eyes were kind, and there was a hint of a smile on his lips. You still had mask.

"Sure," you replied, surprised by his sudden approach.

He joined you at the railing, and for a moment, there was a comfortable silence between you. "I don't usually do well at these kinds of events," Spencer admitted, breaking the silence. "Too many people, too much noise.”
