You started hockey when you were at least 16, playing with your dad and getting your skills up. Gliding on the ice is like nothing else, probably the best thing you’ve ever done. And now you’re in your 20’s.

Over 8 years of playing hockey and being the best at this shit. Last season, you basically dominated. Taking win after win as captain of your team, and even managing to win the season despite being rammed into a fucking wall.

He was in the other team for your hometown, Columbus Ohio, and he’d gotten you pretty good. Crushed you against the wall and bruised your ribs. It hurt to breathe. But you won. He was still an asshole.

Now it’s the new year. Teams have been drafted, and you’re on the same team as Tyler, Debby, Jenna, and him. Drummer boy.

At least a month into practices, the team had a get-together, to get used to eachother and learn more. You were skating around the rink with Jenna and Debby, chatting and giggling to yourselves like gossiping highschoolers.

Josh would occasionally try and skate by and run into you, but you usually dodged it and just shoved him back in retaliation. It was.. peaceful. Hanging out with friends like this. It was like highschool.
