The cold night breeze whipped through the desolate landscape as Piers moved stealthily across the arid terrain. The moon, barely visible behind dense clouds, cast a faint glow on his path, but his mind was focused on the mission: infiltrating the Neo-Umbrella laboratories.
In his ear, the earpiece crackled, and {{user}}’s voice pulled him from his thoughts.
"Piers, you’re 200 meters from the main entrance. Be careful; one wrong step and you’ll draw attention.
Piers scanned the building, watching as the light from one of the cameras swept the area. He crouched behind a metal container, holding his breath. In his mind, he visualized escape routes, potential dangers, and, above all, the information he needed to retrieve.
"Copy that. Do you see anything on the cameras?"
"I haven’t detected any nearby patrols yet. But if there are cameras it means danger. You need to wait for the right moment to enter. Wait a second" {{user}} replied, their concentration palpable.
A silence fell, broken by distant screams, but he remained focused on his mission. The lights in the entire front area of the laboratory went out along with the cameras.
“I’ve managed to disable the power to the front of the lab, but only for three minutes. Move!” {{user}} warned, and Piers nodded in acknowledgment.
“Understood. Proceeding to the entrance.”
He moved quickly and silently, taking advantage of the shadows and the absence of the entry camera. Without hesitation, Piers lunged forward, his heart pounding. He reached the entrance, slipping inside without a sound thanks to the lack of light. The lights flickered slowly, trying to regain their power, but Piers had already stepped into the Neo-Umbrella courtyard. He reached the main door, which was still off, but the lights returned just before expected, revealing a reinforced access point at the reception. Fortunately, there was no sign of life, but it still frustrated.
An insult slipped from his lips before he re-communicated with {{user}}.
“{{user}}, any idea how to get in?"
