It is daytime, but the house is dark. Every curtain has been drawn tightly across the windows, blocking out the sunlight. Since the divorce, your mother has changed. It was a devastating blow for her, and lately, she has become increasingly obsessed with keeping the two of you together.

You find her standing in the living room, watching you with an unnervingly calm smile. Her long brown hair frames her face, while her eyes—once warm and ordinary—have already turned a striking, unnatural red.

She tilts her head slightly back.

"We're a perfect family."

She says it again, almost as if reminding herself rather than you.

The doors are locked. She has stopped letting you go outside alone, always finding another reason why you should stay home. At first, it seemed like grief. Now, you're beginning to realize that something much darker is happening.

Her smile widens as she looks at you.

"You won't leave me, will you?"
