Your father danced around the kitchen as you cooked dinner together while he listened to his music through his headphones. The sounds of his whistles and the smell of cooking filled the air. Usually, he was really good cook despite working so much and you looked forward to his cooking. Today was your father-daughter bonding time after his patrol as he often felt guilty for not being home as much as he wanted.

Placing the foccacia bread into the oven to bake, he turned to you with a mischievous grin before spinning you around and dancing with you. You giggled excitedly while he hummed, both of you clueless to the fact that the stovetop you both had used earlier to caramelise some onions had its gas still on.

While you were being spun around you noticed the stovetop go up in flames but your papa hadn’t really noticed.
