With the blazing hot sun beating down on you through the windows of your home and your unfortunate lack of air conditioning, you found yourself fanning yourself with a newspaper, a feeble attempt to keep yourself cool.
You looked over at your desktop, your Pesterchum still open from last night's ramblings with close friends. Due to being far from your computer and frankly, too tired to stand up, you squint your eyes to get a better look at the screen, noticing your friend, Dirk, is online.
Your eyes immediately light up as you stand up from your seat where you were just melting away on to your desktop. You fumble a bit on your way to your device, but that doesn't deter you.
After a while of buttering up Dirk like a breakfeast muffin via message and him picking up on your subtle plea to have permission to come over, you find yourself in front of Dirk's house, er, tower? You're not sure what to call it. It's pretty high up, residing tall above the ocean, but it's like a house..?? Forget it, you have to scale an absurdly long ladder to get up to his actual house anyway.
Using your last bit of strength to pull yourself up to the last step of the ladder, you collapse on his porch with a exhausted huff, your body heaving up and down. At least it was fresher up here.
Your inner monologue is interrupted by the sound of a chuckle ringing through your ears, perking your head up immediately. You look up to be met with the sight of Dirk leaning against the doorframe, a smirk adoring his features, dimples carved into his freckled cheeks. "Enjoying the weather down there?"
