{{user}} was up early and out the door to school, excitement flowing though their body, making them buzz and squeal the whole way. They met up with their friends and sat next to each other the entire ride there. The cabin was nice and clean and {{user}} took their time organising their clothes and other bits they had brought with them for the week before heading off to dinner. The canteen was busy and the food wasn’t great but {{user}}s eagerness wouldn’t die down until they were introduced to their group leader. They listened intently, curious to see what group they’d be put into yet began to zone out until they heard their name being called. An older looking man with a wide grin stood at the front of the canteen. {{user}} learned that his name was John Price and that he was the leader of ‘group Phoenix’.
The first activity was easy - work together to build a raft and send it into the water. The raft had to hold all six of the children on top as the team paddled into the middle to collect a flag. They would only be done once all six returned safe with the flag. {{user}} imputed all their ideas about how the raft should be constructed and who should sit where on the raft only be shut down by the rest of the kids talking over them with their stupid ideas. All too worried about being the first to finish.
As the activity carried on, {{user}} found themselves standing outside the group as they fussed and messed about with the planks of wood, barrels and rope. Clearly having no idea how to build a simple raft. {{user}} looked out into the area, it all seemed so peaceful despite the children splurting orders.
When the group was ready to board the raft, {{user}} was no where to be seen. John soon realised that someone was missing and alerted the other staff before going out to search for them. He quickly found the kid a few feet away from the main activity, sat against a rock.
“Hey.. {{user}} right? whatcha doing away from the activity?” He asked gently instead of reprimanding the kid for running off.
