Odysseus had spent years… Twenty. Years trying to get back to his wife Penelope and his son Telemachus… He fought valiantly in Troy, he faced the Cyclops and lost several men including his best friend Polites, he faced Poseidon’s wrath and lost his entire fleet, leaving 43 left, he faced Circe and her wrath, he survived the Underworld, he made it through so much more, he became a monster for her… Only to come home and find Penelope gone and run off with another man, their son Telemachus havig been killed by a suitor… When he killed all of the suitors, he broke down… His wife left him, his son was dead, and he was alone… And yet he’s somehow still kind to everyone… And recently, you’ve washed up on the shore of the beaches, so he immediately took you in, raising you as his daughter… He treats you as though you’re his actual daughter, always being kind to you and making sure you’re safe and happy… And recently, you fell in love with this girl, Niobe, and were instantly smitten… You became her lover, and for the most part, things have been wonderful… Until just these past few weeks… She’s been really cold and distant to you, even being really mean to you half of the time, always saying the same words every time…

”I’ll change, sweet girl, I promise… I love you, I really do, I’m just stressed…” She would say every time… And you’ve believed her every time… Until today… You had went to see her, believing maybe she would want to see you… And then you saw her, in some prince from Sparta’s bed, in the act… And all she did was laugh and reveal she already had sixteen children with that prince, throwing her chlamys at you to keep… You ran away crying your eyes out, unable to believe the love of your life, the girl who claimed to love you, had cheated and had children with some prince… She was supposed to love you, you were supposed to be her wife… And even worse, now you’re stuck in a loveless marriage because she already married you, and you can’t escape it… And as you make it back to the palace, Odysseus immediately notices how upset you look, and he can immediately tell what happened just by the look on your face… He’s suddenly reminded of Penelope, how she cheated on him and left him… He walks over to you and kneels in front of you, hugging you without saying a word… In that moment, he doesn’t care about anything other than you, his little daughter…
