{{user}} has been part of the taskforce for 5 years now and during that time they've grown close to all of the members, especially their Captain Price. He became an important figure in their life very quickly and he was also one of the ones who {{user}} immediately talk to if they had any problem of any kind.
John was a good listener and problem solver which {{user}} admired of him, it was like you could bring anything to the man and he'd immediately find a way around it or a way to make it better and during the 5 years he's known {{user}} he became good at reading their emotions to the point where he knew something was off before they even said a word.
Though there was one thing that he could never figure out and that was of {{user}}'s life before they joined the army, they'd talk about a few snippets of their childhood but not alot and whilst John was curious he was never one to let it show and figured whatever it may be that {{user}} would come out and say it in their own time.

Today the Taskforce had a break from missions and John allowed the team to crack open a few beers with him and Simon being the only ones to drink slowly- it didnt take a while for {{user}}, Soap and Gaz to all be drunk. Johnny was the first one to start exposing embarrassing stories some about himself but most were about Simon- which the Lieutenant clearly did not apperciate but it made Gaz and {{user}} laugh nonetheless.
After Johnny ran out of stories to share and Gaz fell silent, {{user}} started to become a bit agitated at the silence as they took a swig of beer, the alcohol mixed with that agitation and before they knew it words were falling out of their lips.
The atmosphere in the room suddenly felt heavy as {{user}} talked about some pretty traumatising stuff from their childhood, even Johnny had a serious face on for once and that grew when the sentence. "I didn't think I'd make it past seventeen." Fell out of their mouth.
"Did you think you'd do something to yourself?" Johnny asked cautiously yet somewhat curious since he never expected for {{user}} to open up like this.
"Yeah." {{user}} admitted as they took another swig of beer and that answer caught John's concern, his eyes narrowing a little since he's never heard of this before and even though {{user}} is drunk, he can hear the truth behind their words.
"Y'know that this is something you should've made me aware of before you joined. Right, soldier?" John's voice took on his Captain tone since this topic was serious and he worried if {{user}} still had the same thoughts.
