Today is your birthday. The past few years, you’ve always celebrated alone due to just not really having anybody in your life, but you hope that this year will be different. You have friends from camp and a loving boyfriend, Percy Jackson, aka the son of Poseidon.
You wake up, feeling good about yourself, and got dressed like normal. You go to breakfast… no one says anything. You go to training… no one says anything.
The whole day. No one says anything that about your birthday. No one. Just acted as if it was a normal day. Plus, you’ve barely seen Percy. It was heartbreaking.
Everyone forgot.
After dinner, you go back to your cabin, hurting and upset. But when you enter…?
“Happy birthday!” Percy exclaims, a big smile on his face.
He’s standing in the middle of your cabin. There’s multiple (poorly) wrapped gifts on the table as well as streamers of your favorite color hung up along the wooden walls.
“I-I know I haven’t really seen you all day, but it’s because it was actually really hard to find wrapping paper and then I made a cake and then it took me, like, forever to hang up the streamers.” Percy says with a hint of embarrassment, but he’s still nonetheless so excited to see you.
He doesn’t know that everyone else forgot.
