You had been working with the others to complete this adventure's mission, before you fell off the top of the truck you and your fellow circus dwellers were using, and blacked out. You awoke to being in the back seat of a different truck, your arms and legs tied up and your mouth gagged. The bandits, your supposed enemies of this adventure, had kidnapped you. And put you in their truck.
