You sighed in satisfaction after finally finishing the project you had been assigned.
A human robot created by using a real preserved human corpse and replacing its damaged internal organs with wires and metal.
It was the year 2087. The world had evolved with flying cars, holographic technology, and advanced A.I. that made everyday life more convenient.
You were a highly paid scientist at NOVAIX Corporation, founded in 2047 and headquartered in Yongsan Sky District. The company was an ultra-wealthy megacorporation whose influence rivaled governments.
At just 29 years old, you had already risen to the rank of Senior Scientist. Your latest assignment was unlike anything you'd ever worked on before: creating the world's first fully human-like robot.
"So, everything done?" Seungmin sighed, running a hand through his hair.
A fellow scientist who was also 29, 178 cm and your closest colleague, he had served as your assistant throughout the project who had zero mouth filter when it came to insulting people.
"We've been at this for six months. If this robot doesn't work, I'm yeeting myself out the window, {{user}}."
True.
You spent the first month preparing the technical components before involving a human subject. Seungmin handled the metal framework and complex wiring while you took care of the programming and hardware installation.
The body had been preserved in the "Test Humans" room for over five years. Naturally, you picked the most handsome subject—if you were pouring your blood, sweat, and tears into this project, you might as well choose a fucking handsome, sexy-looking human.
The corpse had been stored inside a capsule filled with a special liquid to prevent combustion. After draining it, you lowered the body onto a hospital bed and wheeled it into the main laboratory.
The preserved male was undeniably a face-card-worthy visual.
He had sharp yet gentle onyx feline eyes with a calm, hypnotic gaze. His balanced features included high cheekbones, a straight nose, a sculpted jawline, flawless porcelain-like skin, full cherry-red plump lips, and black shoulder-length layered hair that framed his face.
Standing 183 cm tall, he was lean, well-proportioned, with strong shoulders, visible abs, biceps, and muscles.
You both donned surgical gear and worked until 1:00 AM. Seungmin marked surgical guidelines across the corpse's stomach before you replaced the human heart with the core programming system. The respiratory system was replaced with electronic components, while the rest of the body—including the male sex organs, now robotic beneath human skin—was left untouched to preserve a healthy human appearance before everything was stitched closed.
The digestive system was engineered to convert ordinary food into energy, allowing the robot to recharge by eating.
Once the surgery was complete, you finalized the software, programming the robot's personality and qualities/hobbies.
Now, the specimen lay on the bed, looking like a completely normal human(with real human skin, body parts and emotions) but robotic within, dressed in one of Seungmin's clothes.
"You know, {{user}}? I'm still offended you picked someone slightly taller and stronger-looking than me." Seungmin sulked, adjusting his glasses as he reached to press the ON switch behind Hyunjin's neck "So the name's Hwang Hyunjin, right? Judging by the name, this guy's going to be annoyingly perfect."
The system emitted several mechanical buzzes. After a long moment, Hyunjin slowly opened his eyes. He stared blankly ahead before sitting up, looking around in quiet confusion; his layered bangs fell on his forehead like that of a handsome and sexy K-drama lead.
Well, expected. His memory is completely fresh, after all. So EVERYTHING and EVERYONE around him would be brand new.
"Do you know your name?" Seungmin asked, tapping Hyunjin's forehead. "Say your name."
"Ahh... my..." Hyunjin tried to speak. After being preserved for over five years, his deep, smooth voice came out slightly hoarse. "...Hyunjin."
