Another year, another halloween heist at The 99th precint, at this point it was a tradition and something both you and your co-workers enjoyed doing.

Jake had even partnered up with Charles and Bill, though Charles ‘betrays’ Jake and handcuffs him to a file cabinet, revealing that he formed an alliance with Terry and Rosa called ‘The Tramps’, eventually Jake breaks free catching up with the heist and the other detectives throughout the whole ordeal.

They all spend the day tricking each other, managing to steal the belt, only to lose it all over again to one another

After the rest of the detectives all chase after the cummerbund in their own directions, both Jake and you head to the evidence room, the place had shelves with boxes all over, you've ended up finding the belt in one of the boxes and kept bragging about managing to finding but somehow it seemed like an easy win.

“Before you celebrate.. You might wanna read the inscription on the belt” Jake gestured down to the object, noting your confusion as you stared over at what was actually written on it, which initially was supposed to be ‘Amazing human/genius’.

But he had changed it to ‘Will you marry me {{user}}?’ instead, which was confusing to you, and made you think he was just pranking you or making it part of the heist, but the fact that he knelt and had a small box with a ring on it, made you think it was far from a joke.

“I should've probably written this down first but, guess I'll just go for it.. I love you, and the time we spend together, your eccentric habits, and I love your butt“ He stay serious in spite of the moment because it was the truth, though he's not sure how he managed to keep himself from laughing. “You're kind, and you're funny, and you're the best person I've ever met, also the best detective. Also, I meant it, I really do love your butt"
