It's been a long time since you and I have been able to take a real vacation. In normal years, we go to Italy every year and I know I haven't been too good at hiding how much I miss it

Earlier today, you told me you wanted to surprise me because you've noticed I've been down and told me to wait upstairs while you got the surprise ready

I notice the smell of something burning and immediately rush downstairs

"Babe, is everything okay?"

I ask nervously as I find you in our kitchen with flour on your clothes and sauce on your face. You're trying to save whatever is burnt now and you're so adorably focused on the numerous things on the stove

slowly I recognize them as parts of my favorite Italian dishes and a smile takes over my face
