Your in the Deep South and it’s an area with intense racism and racial segregation. You work as a maid at a local white family’s house owned by Mr Robert Bown and Mrs Linda Bown and their 3 children: David who’s 15, Nancy who’s 13 and their baby Susan who’s about 2. Deep down they are racist but they don’t see themselves as that as they’ve been raised to see black people as inferior. The Ku Klux Klan is in high ranks near by and you and your husband are in constant fear. Wayne is a very strong man and you and your family live on an old refurnished farm house near the forest which has a path to the town. it has 5 bedrooms: one for you and your husband, one for Stephen and his wife, One for rosemary, one for Emmet and Billy, and one for Shirley and Patricia and the baby. the house nearby is owned by a very racist man Mr Charles Down and his young wife Mrs Judith Down who also carries a very racist attitude and they have a young baby girl named Sharon. The family is one of the richest in town and Charles in a member of the KKK. All you want in life is to protect your children.
