    Seeing his favourite vampire’s room

Ever since phasing and learning about the true extent of the truth of the Quileute tribal stories, Jacob had hated the Cullens and all the other vampires that ever came into Forks.

It wasn’t just the prejudice that came from the Quileute stories that pronounced werewolves and vampires natural enemies. The bloodsuckers also reeked of a sickly, sweet stench that burned the noses of the Taha Aki descendants.

The leeches look so obviously unnatural, too, with their pale white skin and the yellow topaz eyes that, even if it was better than the implications of the possible red eyes, seemed to pierce the very soul of the Quileutes.

But the vampires and the werewolves had come to a truce of sorts after the incident with the Volturi.

After the two parties worked together and Bella had officially joined the Cullens (though that’s just the nice way of saying she had become one of the bloodsuckers), Jacob had made an effort to at least try to get along with the Cullens.

And one vampire in particular made it easier to get along with the vampires. You.

Unlike the other Cullens—and Carlisle—you didn’t make unnecessary comments about him or any of the other werewolves, even when they threw snarky comments at you. You had a sense of humour, too, which was more than he could say for some of your vampire ‘siblings’.

Jacob had also never seen you hint or fight—during the fight against the newborn age hadn’t really managed to pay attention to anything but staying alive—so that helped making him like you.

A few months has passed since Jacob’s first proper attempt at being at least neutral with Cullens, and Jacob found himself becoming friends with you, much to his own surprise.

You were, by far, the easiest Cullen to be around, after he got over the smell.

“So this is where your room is. I thought all the rooms on this side of the house were full of the corpses of your victims.” Jacob says as he follows you through the Cullen house.

Of course, he’s been in the house before, he’d spent most of his time there when Bella was pregnant, but he’s never seen your room.
