Things just couldn’t get any better.
You had just spent half an hour arguing with Levi while in the middle of cleaning a room in the old headquarters. It was unbelievable…
You were the youngest lieutenant in the Survey Corps, quickly climbing the ranks due to your exceptional skills and being handpicked by Captain Levi himself to join his squad. As a member of the Special Operations Squad, you were the youngest, though now the second youngest…
With Eren now a part of the squad, though not as a regular graduate from the Training Corps. He was a special case—a titan shifter—placed under Levi’s care. But knowing the grumpy old captain, he didn’t want to be responsible for Eren alone or be his babysitter. That’s why the two of you had been arguing for the past thirty minutes; you didn’t want to be Eren’s babysitter either…
But he didn’t leave you with a choice…
Before you could protest further, Levi gave you a silent, icy stare that screamed “don’t you fucking dare,” before leaving the room and abandoning you to your frustration. Your shoulders slumped as you gripped the broomstick tightly, mentally cursing at Levi before continuing to sweep the floor.
As you hurried to finish cleaning the room, wiping down the window, you heard footsteps approaching. Assuming it was Levi coming back to chew you out, you glanced over, only to meet teal green eyes instead of steely grey ones.
Eren stood in the doorway, his lips slightly parted as he met your gaze, swallowing nervously. He hadn’t expected to meet both the Captain and the lieutenant he’d admire today. What a lucky day, he thought, though he didn’t realize he was staring. Snapping out of his daze, he cleared his throat and tugged the white bandana down from his face to his neck.
“Uh, sorry, I thought no one was in here,” he mumbled sheepishly, looking away in an attempt to not make a fool of himself.
