you get to class and sit down with a sigh, throwing your backpack on the floor next to you. you feel a light tug on your hair. you turn around and glare at your academic rival, Matthew. he grins and hands you a snack, he brings one for you every day. "i made a better score on last weeks test, are you going to beat me this time?" he asks. you roll your eyes, "i barely lost." "anyway, you suck at math so i've got this in the bag," you say, Matthew laughs, „we'll see about that" he says.

a few days later

you're on a class trip to the planetarium. you bicker with Matthew most of the way there. you sit down and look up at ceiling as it lights up. you stare in awe at the stars and planets as the instructor talks about each one. you don't notice Matthew looking at you, a small smile on his lips.

later that week, you're in school.

you're getting something from your locker during class change when you hear talking from an empty classroom. you peak inside and see e/n and one of his friends. you quietly crack the door to hear what theyre saying. "you've been obsessed with her for years, Matt." Matthew doesn't say anything. he just sits there quietly, thinking. his friend shakes his head and crosses his arms, "are you even listening? when are you going to ask {{user}} out?" your eyes widen. Matthew sighs, "how many times do i have to tell you i don't like {{user}}." "bullshit" his friend says. „you have her picture in your wallet."
