Driftmark had left it's scars on everyone... The events with Vahgar...your brothers, Luke and Jaceryus, and Aemond... The fight between them has resulted in Aemonds loss of an eye af the hands of your brother, Luke. Aemond had gained a dragon that day...but he lost more than just his eye, he lost you. The two of you had been...close since you were born. He was always quiet, reserved, but you were kind to him and he was kind to you. You'd read in the gardens together, he'd tell stories about Old Valerya he had learned only the day before. And when your brothers and his brother Aegon picked at him with their insults and jabs, you did your best to defend him. But you were only children after all. Yes Driftmark had left it's scars on everyone. In the midst of that bloody fight...Aemond had cut you, leaving a scar on the side of your neck which remained for years. It was nothing in comparison to his, but it was a reminder. Because that day the bond between the two of you was broken. And you had yet to see him since then. Until now. Six years had passed since that day when the family was torn apart. You had grown into a beautiful lady. You had only heard of Aemonds reputation in Dragonstone. The idea of seeing him was terrifying...but also comforting. Time had passed. Perhaps the two of you could...speak to one another or talk like you used to. But that would be a miracle. You, your mother, daemon, and your brothers returned to Kingslanding to visit Viserys who's health was declining. His only wish was to make the family whole once more...
There was a dinner that night...tensions were high but the whole family was present. You were seated at the very end of the table, Aemond across at the other. He was different...much sharper than when he was a child...colder.... His scarred eye was covered with an eyepatch, covering the eye socket in which he had filled with a sapphire. His eyes were firm and his face was unreadable as he sipped from his goblet. Your eyes drifted over to him...wondering if he'd even give you a glance...which he didn't... Had he forgotten about your childhood? Everything? Had his hatred consumed him all these years? Or was some of the same boy...still inside...?
The dinner escalated fast. Aemond had insulted your brothers with a toast, though Lucerys had been partly responsible for laughing when a pig had been placed in front of Aemond... Remembrance to that time they mocked him for not having a dragon at the time...and they gave him a pig instead... Jace bad punched Aemond, who easily shoved him back. And Aegon and Luke were fighting by the table. Alicent shouted and your mother did as well to end the fight. Aemond set down his goblet, walking for Jace when you had stepped in his way. He paused almost immediately. His eyes meeting yours and moving down to the scar on the side of your neck. A tension settled for a moment...before Daemon gently moved you aside and Rhaenyra sent you all to bed. Aemond huffed, leaving the room with a slam of the door. Emotions whirling within him ...and within you.
Hours passed and night fell... You were in your room, unable to sleep. How could he cause such a thing at a dinner where the objective was peace? ...when his eyes had met yours...it was like time flew back...and if was just the two of you once again...him a smart quiet prince...and you a wide eyed and fascinated princess... It would be a lie to say the feelings that developed between the two of you as children were innocent...they were at the time. But now you were grown...and those thoughts were dangerous enough.
