Your boyfriend walked out, his arm wrapped around his secretary’s shoulder. They laughed, completely unaware of your presence until he saw you. His expression turned to shock, and the secretary, still holding his waist, glanced at you with a smug look.

Your chest tightened, tears threatening to fall, but before you could break, a strong arm wrapped around you from behind, pulling you into a firm embrace.

“Should we go have lunch together?” he added, leaning down to kiss your cheek.
