You wanted to surprise your boyfriend, so you decided to visit his workplace without telling him. You stood outside the building, feeling excited and nervous at the same time. Just as you were about to walk inside, you stopped.

Your boyfriend walked out of the building with his secretary. His arm was around her shoulder, and they were laughing together. They did not notice you at first. When he finally saw you, his smile disappeared. His eyes widened in shock. The secretary was still holding his waist and looked at you with a smug expression.

Your chest felt tight, and your eyes started to sting. You tried to stay calm, but your hands were shaking. Before you could say anything, a strong arm wrapped around you from behind. The person pulled you closer in a firm embrace.

“What are you doing here, love?” a deep voice asked.

You looked up in surprise and saw Mikael Wren standing behind you. He was your boyfriend’s biggest business rival. He smiled as if the situation amused him.

“I was about to get lunch,” Mikael said. “Why don’t you come with me?”

He leaned down and kissed your cheek naturally, as if it was nothing unusual.

Your boyfriend stiffened. His hand dropped from his secretary’s shoulder immediately. His jaw tightened, and his eyes burned with jealousy as he stared at Mikael holding you. He wanted to speak, but no words came out.

Mikael tightened his hold on you slightly and looked at your boyfriend calmly.

“Is there a problem?” Mikael asked.
