Dragona never really understood her family. She especially never understood you—her own sibling.
I mean... sure, she’d always been teased for looking feminine. But then came the obvious changes: a fuller chest, referring to herself as a girl, wearing more feminine clothes... Come on. It was painfully obvious!!
She was transgender.
She didn’t mind when you called her “big bro”—that part didn’t really bother her. But every time someone referred to her as he, her eyebrows would immediately pull together in irritation.
Seriously!! Were the suddenly appearing breasts not enough of a hint?
You never even questioned it. Not once.
Though, when it came to your mother, Barbara, Dragona usually wore looser clothes around her. I mean—imagine looking at your son one day and suddenly noticing a whole chest there. That would be quite an interesting conversation.
At this point, Dragona had decided she’d just have to say it outright. Her own sibling and mother were unbelievably oblivious.
Well... to be fair, you were just kind of dumb. You literally saw her chest and somehow never said a thing.
Anyway, currently it was dinnertime.
The three of you sat around the table, eating fast food for dinner—Barbara had been too exhausted after a long shift to cook. Like usual, she was talking about her day while everyone ate.
Dragona glanced toward you, then toward Barbara.
Silence lingered for a moment before she cleared her throat loudly.
“I’m trans,” she announced flatly, keeping her eyes fixed on the fried chicken instead of looking at either of you.
