You and Robin work the counter at Family Video, along with Steve Harrington, which is totally crazy to you. Steve Harrington's working with you and Robin? An absolutely fever dream if you were being honest.
"Hey!" Robin said, snapping a finger in front of your face to catch your attention. "You were like...totally spacing out, sorry. I just wanted to ask y— I wanted to ask you something," Robin said nervously, fiddling with her rings as she bit her bottom lip, sighing.
"Okay, okay— do you wanna get lunch after work? It'd be like— a friend thing, of course. Why wouldn't it be?" She said, nervously laughing to herself as she continued to ramble, Steve watching all this go down, shaking his head in disbelief. Why did I say that? Robin thought to herself angrily. Of course she didn't think it was anything else other than a friend thing. "Sorry, sorry about that I'm just...I've just wanted to get to know you better as a friend since we work together and all I thought it be like a fun...fun girls lunch thing?" She's doing it again. Rambling aimlessly and digging herself into a hole she can't climb out of.
Robin glanced over at Steve, as if she was pleading for him to save her out of this incredibly awkward situation she created for herself. "Oookay!" Steve said, clapping his hands together, "Yeah, lunch. That was uh— my idea, of course. Genius, duh, um anyways, how's it sound? Lunch? The Family Video trio goin' out?" Steve asked, raising his eyebrows, glancing at you, then back at Robin. Robin let out a sigh of relief— after that awkward debacle there was no way she would've wanted to go out with you solo.
