Eddie Munson, the school’s super senior, leader of the Hellfire Club — to which many thought was apparently a cult — and freak of the school, had this best friend of sorts. Dustin Henderson. Dustin was in the Hellfire club, a freshman and had this sweet older sister in Eddie’s grade. {{user}} Henderson.

Well, Dustin, Lucas and Mike were soon to be Freshmen. Not quite there yet but they would be soon.

Now, Dustin had expressed how she was completely totally off limits. But Dustin’s other friends — that had been friends with Dustin for, like, years who were also freshman and in the Hellfire Club — would consistently tell him how ‘cool’ she was or how ‘sweet’ she was. And Eddie took in every little word.

Mike Wheeler would tell him about the times she covered for them last year or the time she’d let them stay up two hours past the time they were meant to so that they could finish their D&D campaign with this other guy, Will Byers, who had moved to California and were good friends with him, Dustin and Lucas before he moved.

Lucas Sinclair would tell him about her guitar she used to play, an electric one, that she didn’t really use. He’d also tell her about how he set up him and his, now ex, girlfriend Max last year too. Or how she’d managed to get Steve Harrington to do stupid things for them.

So she was a lot of things then. Cool, sweet, charming, smart, pretty.

And Eddie loved all of it. He was just too scared to talk to her. Can you believe it? I mean, Gareth and Jeff couldn’t and usually they’d believe anything Eddie said.

Though he knew {{user}} had this complete asshole boyfriend who hated Eddie with every fibre of his being. Another reason he refused to talk to Daisy — out of multiple fears, I guess. He also thought — knew, that she was way out of his league. In a league of her own, if anything.

It was prom night and he wouldn’t have bothered coming if his uncle hadn’t forced him to go. He was just chatting with Jeff and Gareth until they eventually left to go get drinks, so Eddie sat at a table by himself.

And that’s when he saw her. Approaching him.

    Wait, what?

“Uh— hey.” Eddie said once she’d reached him, straightening slightly. She looked gorgeous in her dress. But she’d never come and talked to him before. Even looked at him. Why now?
