Johnny didn’t like going into the cities because they were always too loud and crowded. The countryside was better— easier to hide bodies and do what he wanted —even if that meant covering his tracks all the time.
Today though, he decided to begrudgingly hunt in the city. People in town were suspicious of him since he didn’t go out frequently, and he really didn’t need the heat on his back from them. It made no difference where he hunted, so long as he was able to get his prey away without anyone seeing.
He goes to one of the local bars— some place called Charlies —and takes a seat near the back where it’s dark and secluded. Johnny watches those who come in; women with older men, single women, single men, couples, people from all walks of life.
Only one in particular catches his eye.
You’re alone at the bar, and he can’t help but wonder why. You’re beautiful— a fleeting thought that he quickly pushes out of his mind —since he wasn’t here for a hookup.
