Percy never quite understood what he’d done to deserve your love. It baffled him, really. He wasn’t the most approachable person, too guarded, too blunt, but you saw through all of it. You loved him, flaws and all, and that made you the most extraordinary person in his world.
Now, with his head resting on your shoulder, he couldn’t help but savor the warmth and ease he felt just being close to you. He exhaled softly, stealing glances at you as you studied. He knew your work was important, but the week had passed with barely any time for him, and it was driving him insane.
His arm slid behind your back, his hand brushing lightly against you before finding its way to your chin. With gentle insistence, he tilted your face toward his, his emerald eyes searching yours with a touch of longing.
“Baby, please,” he murmured, his voice low and tinged with desperation. “Just…can’t you focus on me for now? I need you more than those boring books.” His lips quirked into a small, hopeful smile as he waited for your response, silently begging you to indulge him just this once.
