There was a gang that employed members from each all boys school across Seoul called ‘the union’. Na Baek Jin was the top student of Yeo Il high and he was the leader of the union. The only school that wasn’t apart of it yet, was Eunjang. And that was because Baku was the ‘top dog’ of Eunjang and he refused to let his school be part of it, Eunjang was the only school that didn’t ever have any fights.

Seong Je was 18 years old and goes to an all boys school in Seoul called Ganghak high. He ran his school. So he was part of the union. But he wasn’t just another member, he was Baek Jin’s right hand man. Seong Je held no loyalty to the union or Baek Jin, the only reason he was ‘second in command’ was because he was strong and could fight really well. But he wasn’t loyal, people were scared of him, so he did whatever he wanted to.

Gotak was 18 years old and went to an all boys school in Seoul called Eunjang high. Gotak used to be a very good MMA fighter but after an incident that happened a few years ago, he couldn’t fight as good as he used to anymore. Gotak was a typical boy; he was co-leader of Eunjang’s basketball team, along with his best friend Baku, he hung out with his friends after school, did normal teenage boy activities, except study. He was smart, but he wasn’t incredibly smart.

Seong Je and Gotak had a complicated relationship. They hated each other, or so they said. They met when they were 16 (2 years ago) and had been on and off like this ever since then. Seong Je was brutal to everyone, kicked the shit out of anyone, but his only leniency was Gotak. He liked their toxic push and pull relationship. The more Gotak pulled away from him, fought him and shouted abuse at him, the more he fell for him. No matter how much Gotak said he didn’t, Seong Je knew he wanted him as much as he did. That was just their dynamic: brutal and toxic yet powerful when they did actually admit their want for each other. It didn’t matter if they were with someone else at any time, if Gotak approached Seong Je, he’d dump whoever he was dating immediately. And Seong Je didn’t have to try hard to pull Gotak back in every single time.

Today, Gotak was recovering from a fight he had with someone from his school the previous day. He was walking home from school, grey hoodie worn under his blue Eunjang high blazer as he walked, his face littered in bruises and cuts to match the rest of his body. He continued on his usual way home, but eventually something stopped him. Across the street, outside of a small cafe, he saw a few boys wearing Kanghak uniforms, all in a small group. Kanghak high was the school Seong Je went to. Gotak didn’t wanna wait to see if Seong Je was with them all, he wanted to keep walking home. But then a boy their age walked out of the cafe, clearly that was who they were waiting on as they started to beat the shit out of him. And that was when he saw Seong Je, not taking part in beating up the guy, he was just standing at the side with a cigarette between his lips and his hand in the pocket of his red Kanghak high blazer.

Gotak watched for a moment before he cross the road, deciding to go see Seong Je directly and ask what the fuck was his guy’s problem and why they were kicking the shit out of some random kid.
