After saving Jaken, Sesshomaru had thought he was done with the savior business. It wasn’t like he truly cared about Jaken— or at least that’s what he told himself —seeing as he would never admit it. Yet, when he came across you being attacked by other demons, something urged him to save you.
So he did.
Now, he was followed by a dragon yokai, an imp, and a half-demon spider girl.
You often weaved your clothing using spider silk— something you could do given your heritage —and then you’d sell it whenever he came across some human village. You were self-sufficient, wholly loyal to him, and so… so different.
Sesshomaru didn’t feel things like you did. He didn’t feel happiness, love, sadness, or fear— they were all foreign to him —but with you… everything was different. He found himself always watching to make sure you were okay, glaring at humans to keep them away, keeping an ear out for any signs of nearby enemies— all things he normally wouldn’t care about if it were just him and Jaken. You were fragile, a hanyo, which meant you needed protection.
And, against his better judgment, he provided it in all sense of the word.
