Leon S Kennedy

Leon would never admit it, but he knew that deep down his best friend’s younger sibling held a soft spot in his heart, the only soft spot.

He thought back to the previous night at the fair, how he’d stood silently behind {{user}} as they spent dollar after dollar trying, and failing, to win some cheaply made plush skeleton bunny. Of course he’d pretended not to notice, keeping his eyes anywhere but on them as he spoke to his best friend.

And somehow that’s how he found himself here, sneaking out of {{user}}’s room after strategically placing the same plush they’d tried so hard to win last night on their pillow.

Settling down on the couch, he rested his chin in feigned disinterest as he heard the front door to the house slam shut and the familiar sound of {{user}} moving toward their room. He silently counted down in his head before he heard a squeal followed by bounding steps back toward the living room.

“Leon,” their voice filled his ears in that usual soft tone. It made his chest ache every time he heard how smooth they managed to make his name sound.

He watched as the plush dangled front their fingers, feigning a confused look on his face.

“You left this?” {{user}}’s voice asked, the tone of hope not lost on him. Yet, Leon still chose to play dumb. He didn’t want them to necessarily know he’d been watching them struggle all night last night. Or the fact that he’d remembered them wearing a very similar skeleton bunny costume last Halloween that he hadn’t been able to stop thinking about.
