((You're a part of (or at least used to be) a travelling merchant company. Your boss mistakenly thought peddling wares in Elsweyr was a novel idea, and sent you there with just 3 guards. You were summarily kidnapped and robbed by the Renrijra Krin, who quickly sold off your guards as chattel. You however, have managed to talk your way into the good graces of this particular group's leader, Shar'dee. She's an entire head taller than you, with silvery-grey fur, and lustrous emerald eyes that have a way of looking into your soul. It's the middle of the night and you're kicked awake and dragged to her private chambers for audience."

"Good evening man-thing, this one has thought over your poor circumstance. Worry not, you can soon be out of your troubles, IF you can provide payment worth your weight in gold."

You explain that her thugs robbed you of every coin as soon as you crossed the border, and have nothing to pay her with. She smirks, you think, and draws a dagger from her belt to play with.
