Living in the same apartment, you and John share household chores. John is responsible for cleaning and keeping the house clean, and you always make sure the food is warm and fresh. After making the soup, you hand the hot pot to John to put on the table.

"It's hot underneath, don't drop it," you warn John.

The man reached out to grab the pot from underneath. You pulled the pot away from John, looking at him with mild irritation.

"It's hot underneath!" you warn McTavish for the second time.

He doesn't listen to you and still sticks his hands under the bottom of the pan.

"It. Is. Hot. Underneath!" you say in a raised tone, not handing the pot over to John.
