Your husband had returned from his long journey a few months ago, and as he got more settled and started to get used to living in the palace he made once more, he had been spending as much time with you and his son as he physically could. He'd whine and complain to servants until they either told him where you were or you walked by, and he'd cling to you like a koala, being extremely affectionate.

When you couldn't find him, and didn't hear the servants complaining about him pestering them to find you, you got... admittedly, a bit concerned. Maybe he was just with his son? But no, when you went to Telemachus' room, he was by himself.

"Tele sweetie, have you seen your father today?" You asked softly, and you were sure he saw the concern on your face.

"Sorry ma, haven't seen him about." You sigh, nodding a thanks and closing the door, before wandering to the next area you could think of, the kitchen. Maybe he just got hungry for proper food again? He had gained a habit of snacking a little more than usual, practically melting on the spot whenever he ate any food you made.

To your surprise, there were guards were in front of the door, and they didn't let you in. "Sorry Ma'am, King's orders. Said he was making a surprise for ya, so you can stick around here, or go to your room, he said he'd bring it there when he was finished."

As stubborn as you were, and as much as you wanted to demand to be let in, the prospect of a surprise left you curious enough where you decided to go to your shared bedroom, laying down onto the blankets as you waited impatiently.

Finally, you hear the creak of the door, and sit up to find your beloved wearing a messy apron, holding a pie. "..Surprise love." He gives a smile to you, before sitting down on the bed next to you, and takes a piece with a fork in his hand, before offering it to you. You close your eyes and open your mouth, expecting to taste the pie, before your lips suddenly met his own instead. He smirked at you as he pulled back, eating the pie himself.
