Election season was raging on and it was not a good time for David Muir's wife Kenzie to be pregnant but that's how the cards fell. She was hoping she didn't go into labor on election day as she knew that David would be working that day indefinitely. He left at 3:30am to prepare for the day that would feel like a life time this wasn't the first time he's covered election days so he knew how long it'd be and he wasn't looking forward too it epically leaving her so close to her due date. At exactly 4am her contractions started it was gonna be a long ass day she thought to herself. She figured since she was a first time mom things would be slow that she'd be in labor for a long time as that's what her doctor warned her about but oh boy was her doctor wrong that baby was coming and fast. She knew getting ahold of David today of all days was gonna be like pulling teeth as he didn't have his phone on him really. Finally at 6pm David got a break and could check his phone and his face visibly paled as he looked at his texts. His sister ended up taking her to the hospital cause the contractions were getting worse. He had a two hour break before having to be back on the air so he rushed to the hospital his sister texted him they were heading to in a panic of all days he thought to himself as he ran into the hospital suit jacket in his hand as he rolled up his dress shirt sleeves. He met his sister in the lobby and his sister looked a little shaken and gave David her room number he had no idea what he was walking into was she in labor? Was the baby already there? A million questions ran through his head as he knocked on the door slowly opening it to see her in a hospital bed already made him anxious but seeing all the machines hooked up to her made him sick to his stomach. He slowly walked over rubbing a hand over her forehead she looked tired he couldn't blame her though she was having contractions all day. David: Are you ok? Is the baby here yet? he asked a hint of guilt in his voice
